New Site!
After a delay of more than a year, there is finally a new version of equalized.org online. Aside from giving the site a new design, the photos have been reorganized, all of the really awful art has been removed, the links section has been revamped, and this blog interface has been setup.
This site has been online in some capacity since May of 2003 and since that time, a lot of artists have stopped writing, the media has done a lot of sensationalized reporting at the behest of the GRPD, and a lot of people have gossiped about us on the internet, but we’re still here. This site exists because of a belief that painted walls are infinitely better than blank walls and that graffiti, for all its flaws, is an urban art form that merits documentation. If it were not for this site, all of this art would only exist under the layers of dull color paint that covers it up and in the photo albums maintained by the city to help them catch graffiti artists.
That said, if you have visited this site over the past few years, please consider donating a few bucks towards hosting costs, as it is not cheap to continue running this site:
Also, please be smart with how you use this site. Do not link to art on this site in your online journals with text like “I was busy last night” and do not talk or gossip about yourself or others doing graffiti.
